Lost Bruce and Good Clothes for Jews are the two most important collections of poems by Langston Hughes in the American Harlem Renaissance movement. The former expresses the author’s sense of national pride with romantic sentiment while the latter reflects the hardships and difficulties of African-American life through realistic means. These poems stimulate the national pride of black people, promote the reconstruction of black ethnic culture identity, and reflect the development course of thoughts of Langston Hughes.
