湖北剧场位于武汉市武昌区蛇山南麓的彭刘杨路西厂口特１号，濒临长江南岸。西北离武汉长江一桥约１华里（图一）。１９９９年底，为了适应城市文化的发展，国家投入巨资对原湖北剧场进行了扩建。２０００年１月，桩基工程破土动工后发现一批墓葬，武汉市博物馆即赶赴工地，对?
