Among various methods of flood evolution calculation, the Muskingum method has been widely applied in engineering practice because of its simple and convenient operation. This method assumes that there is a relationship between fluvial reservoir volume and upper and lower cross-section flow during the flood process as follows: W = k [q_down + X (Q_up-Q_down)] where: - water storage coefficient; Q_, Q_ down - upper and lower section flow; x - flow rate coefficient.
