1981年宝成线略阳至广元段(全长132.5km),由于连降暴雨,因而导致多处发生崩坍、滑坡、泥石流和落石等病害。为此本次水害抢建中增建了隧道及明洞棚洞工程10.271km(其中隧道5.324km,明洞棚洞4.947km)。由于本段线路沿河傍山,地形陡峻,地质复杂,明、棚洞基础难以解决,特设计了防坍能力较强的拱形明洞,能解决深基施
