抗战时期是重新认定儒学现实作用与历史价值的时期,是儒学的重光时期。它不仅为中国现代文化增添了耀眼的光彩,还为中国文化的发展予以了有益的启示。儒学的重光是建立在否定之否定基础上的。五四运动是伟大的革命运动,可也存在着不可忽视的形而上学倾向,主要表现为视儒学为粪土,导致了打倒之声迭起。扭曲了的看法阻碍了’儒学的发展。抗战时期的研究者们从现实和理论两个方面对“五四”及其后约形而上学进行了否定,肯定了儒学不仅具有历史性的还具有现实性的真理价值,应该主动从这个文化宝库中吸纳,并力求有与时俱进的新的构建。吸纳是共识,如何发展却有不同的主张。儒学重光的火炬那真理性的意义是不会泯灭的。
