长江下游铜官山河段沙洲、边滩虽多,但除了成德洲汊道外,其它对航道影响很小.河床演变分析表明:上段成德洲顺直分汊河道高水位时,主流位于左岸左汊,低水位时位于右岸右汊.分沙比左汊大于分流比,右汊分流比大于分沙比,左汊演变胜于右汊.中下段的汀家洲至太阳洲鹅头型分汊河道受上游成德洲影响,主流顶冲安定街形成崩坍,其程度自上而下递增,崩坍部位逐渐下移,太阳洲头日益弯曲.目前,刘家渡以上护岸段渐趋稳定,下游江岸则处于坐弯形势,主流紧靠左岸,整个大江向左移动.汀家洲尾至荻港镇段河道则基本稳定.
