In the study of parasitoid behavioral ecology, the host size size is usually used as the main character of host quality to explore the search behavior mechanism of parasitoids, while ignoring the significance of the size of the parasitoids. In order to reveal the influence of the body size of the parasitoid Apis mellifera on its oviposition decision, we observed the size and weight of Pieris rapae (Pteromalus puparum) Female spawning behavior was investigated and the number of offspring (litter size), sex ratio and body size changes were investigated. The results showed that the dwelling time of the female bee on the host shortened as its body size increased, but prolonged as the weight of the host increased. The number of eggs and the number of oocytes were significantly affected by the body size of females, which were significantly increased with the increase of females’ body size (P <0.05). However, the fecundity of fecundity was not significantly affected by the body size of females (P> 0.05). The size of offspring female and male had nothing to do with the body size of females, but the female body size of offspring increased with the increase of host weight. The results confirmed that the size of the female pupal golden bee hives affect their partial spawning decisions. Therefore, the important variable factor of fecundity size should be considered in the establishment of polygamous bee-spawning decision-making model.
