Ziac for the Treatment of Hypertension Ziac is a compound of β-blocker bisoprolol fumarate and very low dose (6.25mg) hydrochlorothiazide approved by the U.S. FDA for the treatment of hypertension. Bisoprolol is a new cardioselective β-blocker that has no endogenous sympathomimetic activity, and hydrochlorothiazide is effective in lowering blood pressure and is therefore recommended for use in hypertension.
