空中特情,是指航空器在运行过程中由于意外突发原因而出现的一种极度危险状态。飞行本身就是一种蕴涵着高风险的活动。作为战斗机飞行员,其风险程度非同寻常,一旦遭遇空中特情,更是险象环生。1903年,莱特兄弟制造出的第一架载人飞机升空成功后,空中特情便随之而生。而随着飞机制造的不断高技术化和复杂化,其表现的形式也更加多种多样,但最为致命的要数鸟撞飞机、主液压系统故障、发动机空中停车、紧急迫降、起落架收放失灵、轮胎爆裂、飞机失火等等。据美国一家航空权威机构的一份对本国军用飞机的调查显示,发生空中特情后,能够成功处置的概率为3.99%,由此可见特情的杀伤力。
