Objective To investigate urinary protein levels and glycated albumin levels in patients with diabetic nephropathy. Methods A total of 146 patients with diabetes mellitus, including 76 patients without nephrotic syndrome as control group and 70 patients with nephrotic syndrome as study group. Urinary protein, glycated albumin and blood glucose levels were compared between the two groups. Results The urinary protein level of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group, while the level of glycated albumin was significantly lower than that of the control group (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in fasting blood glucose and 2 h postprandial blood glucose between the two groups (P> 0.05). Conclusion Patients with diabetic nephrotic syndrome have higher urinary protein levels and lower levels of glycated albumin. The above changes have no significant relationship with the blood glucose level of patients.
