Since the beginning of the 20th century, Western fairy tales have spread to China. Translation and research have been going on for more than 100 years. The acceptance history of Western fairy tales over the past hundred years can be divided into three stages: the creation period (1903-1949), the twists and turns (1949-1978) and the prosperous period (1978-present). During the pioneering period, the attitude of Chinese academics to western fairy tales During the twists and turns, the scope of acceptance of Western fairy tales by academic circles has been greatly reduced. The related researches have seriously emphasized the “people’s sexuality” and the features of realism in western fairy tales. Since the beginning of the new era, The acceptance of fairy tales in China began to deepen and diversify rapidly, and the results of translation and research were quite impressive. China’s acceptance of western fairy tales presents distinctive stage features that are closely related to the social environment and cultural ecology in different periods of time in China.
