International business is conducted in an evcr-changing cnvironment which is character-ized by the diversity of economic,political,and socio-cultural realities of different countriesas well as the complexity of strong competition in the marketplace。The cultural diversity of international business environment requires international busi-ness professionals to have the awareness of or sensitivity to the nuances of Cross-cultural communication.Attempts to communicate meaning through the transmission of a message tosomeone from a different cultural background run into the danger that the cultural differenceswill lead to misunderstanding of the message.The ehallenges of cross-cultural communication,therefore,callfor the study of different values and norms,customs and habits,religions ancbeliefs,as well as mannerisms and etiquettes in addition to the mastery of language。
