等离子喷涂层的金属切削加工是发展等离子喷涂技术的一个重要环节。等离子喷涂层的结构特性又是选择金属切削加工方法和工艺规范的主要依据。对不同的涂层材料分别采用高速钢车刀、钨钴类车刀、钨钴钛类车刀等刀具进行车削加工工艺规划的试验,其试验结果表明:涂层材料是可切削加工的。等离子喷涂层的金属切削加工工序主要是磨削加工,其加工方法分为周边磨削法和端面磨削法,通过大量的磨削工艺规范试验和分析,为等离子喷涂层的磨削加工提供了可靠的加工工艺规范。国外在等离子喷涂层的金属切削加工方面还提出了“封孔处理”工序和采用高效率的氮化硼以及金刚石砂轮,见到了很好的加工效果。
