表扬和批评,对于党的各级报纸来说,是两项必不可少的重要职能。报纸在执行这两项职能的时候,应当把重点放在表扬方面。不这样去做,就不能正确地反映客观实际,就不能使先进的东西得到发扬,就会给社会主义事业造成损失。但是,决不可因此而削弱报纸上的批评,甚至把这种批评看成是可有可无。作为党的报纸,是否经常地、认真地开展批评,是衡量报纸有无党性或党性强弱的原则问题。 Praise and criticism are two indispensable and important functions for newspapers at all levels of the Party. When carrying out these two functions, the newspaper should focus on complimenting aspects. If we fail to do so, we can not correctly reflect the objective reality and we can not carry forward the advanced things and cause losses to the cause of socialism. However, the criticism in newspapers should never be weakened, and even such criticism should be regarded as dispensable. As a newspaper of the party, whether it carries out frequent and serious criticisms is a matter of principle for measuring the newspaper’s non-party spirit or party spirit.
