A hydraulic solid modeling study was conducted on five river diversion openings along the Missouri River from the Soviet Union Iowa to the St. Louis, Missouri. The dynamic bed Froude ratio model was used to determine the effect of structural modifications near the water inlet to limit the inflow of sediment into the pumped bed. These include arranging a series of underwater screens at the water intake.
