中山有岭南水乡的美誉。但近年咸旱的频繁发生,使各地尤其是南部镇区出现了“身在水乡却无水喝”的尴尬局面,2000年春节庆丰水厂曾一度停止供水。市水利局作为水行政主管部门,顺应民意,及时调整工作思路,制定落实各项有效措施,着力解决中山市缺水矛盾。——积极对水资源进行合理开发和高效利用。针对我市南部缺水严重的状况,合理调整山塘水库结构,开展了新的水源地建设,竭力增加淡水的供给能力。去年动工新建的坦洲镇铁炉山水库和神湾镇南镇水库,新增库容200万m~3,年增供水能力达400万t,从而较好地解决了咸旱时南部镇区用水紧张的局面。尤其
