崔致远,字海夫,号孤云,新罗后期宪安王元年(857)生于王京沙梁部金城(今韩国庆尚北道庆州),是韩国历史上第一位留下了个人文集的作家和学者,长期以来被韩国学术界尊奉为韩国汉文学的开山鼻祖,有“东国儒宗”、“东国文学之祖”的称誉。由于在文学上的极高成就,崔致远得到了后世韩国人民的一致景仰,死后被追谥文昌侯,入祀先圣庙堂,尊为“百世之师”。
