9月11日-13日,我们随中国宗教代表团赴哈萨克斯坦首都阿斯塔纳参加第二届“世界和传统宗教领袖大会”,有幸见证了世界各宗教领袖致力于维护世界和平的努力。中国派出了由中国佛教协会副会长嘉木样·洛桑久美·图丹却吉尼玛活佛为团长、国家宗教局副局长蒋坚永为顾问的中国宗教代表团一行14人参加大会。“世界和传统宗教领袖大会”是由哈萨克斯坦总统纳扎尔巴耶夫发起的,旨在推动各宗教派别进行对话,和谐共存,并促进宗教领袖在国际安全方面发挥积极作用的国际性会议。2003年召开了第一届大会,并决定此后每三年召开一次。主办国哈萨克斯坦十分重视这个大会。作为召开大会的永久性建筑,总统府后方的中轴线上专门修建了金字塔型的会议中心。本届大会由纳扎尔巴耶夫总统亲自主持,议会上院议长担任筹备组秘书长,政府各部门都投入了很大精力以确保会议的圆满成功。
From September 11 to September 13, following the visit of the Chinese religious delegation to Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, for the Second World Leaders’ Conference on Worldly and Traditional Religions, we have the honor to witness the efforts of the world’s religious leaders in devoting themselves to the maintenance of world peace. China sent 14 Chinese religious delegations led by Jiamusi · Lausanne, the vice-president of the Chinese Buddhist Association, Jumeirah Tutain, and Nyima Nyima as the head of the State Council, and Jiang Jiangyong, deputy director of the State Religious Affairs Bureau. The World and Traditional Leaders Conference was launched by Kazakhstan’s President Nazarbayev. It is an international conference that aims at promoting dialogue and harmonious coexistence among religious sects and promoting the active role of religious leaders in international security. The first congress was convened in 2003 and it is decided to convene every three years thereafter. Kazakhstan, the host country, attaches great importance to this conference. As a permanent building for the conference, a pyramid-shaped conference center was specially constructed on the axis of the rear of the presidential palace. The current session was presided over by President Nazarbayev himself and the speaker of the upper house of parliament served as secretary general of the preparatory team. All the government departments devoted great efforts to ensuring the success of the meeting.
