石英是金矿中最重要的脉石矿物。通过对青峰山金矿区石英热发光特征的研究,石英热发光曲线类型有单峰型、双峰型和三峰型。含金石英热发光以阶梯状双峰且发光强度大为特征;围岩或不含金石英具有低缓单峰且发光强度小为特征;研究表明,石英热发光可以用于评价石英脉的含金性、判别矿化阶段以及推测矿脉的含矿程度,并且可以作为寻找和评价金矿的找矿矿物学标志。
