Operation experience of heavy foundry cranes proves that accidents may occur in the work of the main lifting mechanism. Particularly dangerous is that the brake can not be supported when the liquid metal tank is lowered. The reason for this phenomenon is that the control circuit of the mechanism is not adjusted well or that the braking torque of the brake is insufficient.
