1982年8月1日—8月9日在莫斯科召开的第Ⅺ届国际第四纪研究联合会大会期间,除了大会报告外,绝大部分的学术报告是在组内交流,会议共设24个小组,分别在莫斯科大学的若干教室内进行。就第四纪研究的现有领域来讲24个组的内容是比较全面的,涉及到:第四纪沉积物的地层学、第四纪沉积物对比、上新世一更新世海洋、陆架地层和沉积作用、脊椎与无脊椎古生物和它们的地层学意义、动植物历史、全新世、冰川和冰水沉积、冰川地貌学、冰体、冰缘区成岩作用、冲积和河流谷地的建造问题、第四纪火山和沉积、第四纪建造的地球化学、古地理、第四纪矿床、遥感、工程地质问题、石器时代的考古和环境、人类和古人类问题等。与第四纪相关的一些专门性问题诸如地震活动的区域性特点、震害、工程抗震等问题,大都分散在新构造组、遥感和工程地质等组内。就此次会议所接触到的地震灾害与古地震方面的一些问题,归纳如下。

Some special problems related to Quaternary such as the regional characteristics of earthquake activity, seismic damage, seismic engineering and other issues are mostly scattered in the new tectonic group, remote sensing and engineering geology and other groups. On the meeting of the earthquake disasters and paleo-earthquakes encountered some of the problems are summarized as follows.
