红水河是西江水系的一段主要干流,(不计上游南盘江)长659公里。上游为南盘江,发源于云南省东部曲靖市马雄山(滇东高原山区,海拔在1500米以上)。从云南流至广西西林县八大河乡与清水江汇合,成为滇桂之间的界河;沿滇桂边界往北流又与黄泥河汇合,成为黔桂的界河;然后沿广西西林、隆林、田林3县(自治县)北部边界和乐业县西部边界至贵州省望谟县蔗香村双江口与北盘江汇合,始称红水河。
Hongshuihe is a major trunk stream of the Xijiang River system, 659 kilometers long (excluding the upstream Nanpanjiang River). Upstream of the Nanpanjiang River, originated in Qujing City, Yunnan Province, Ma Xiong (East Yunnan Plateau, elevation 1500 meters above). It flows from Yunnan to Badahe Township in Xilin County, Guangxi Province, and merges with Qingshui River to become the boundary river between Yunnan and Guangxi. It flows northward along the border of Yunnan and Guangxi and converges with Huangni River to become the border river of Guizhou and Guangxi. Then, , The north border of Tianlin County (Autonomous County) and the western border of Leye County to the Shuangjiangkou and Beipanjiang of Sugarcane County in Guizhou Province.
