太平天国运动是近代中国的一场影响深远的农民革命,而其支撑性的思想理论则是洪秀全创立的“拜上帝教”。作为一个带有很浓厚宗教色彩的革命组织形式,“拜上帝教”在洪秀全的本土化改造中,呈现出似是而非、相互矛盾和抵牾的一面:“反孔”又“崇儒”、拜“上帝”又渎“基督”。由此可以深入探究洪秀全在中西文化问题上的悖谬,进而推进到对洪秀全及其整个太平天国运动的重新审视与评价。
