The residual diffusible hydrogen H_ (R100) was studied when the welding zone of low alloyed high strength steel was cooled to 100 ℃, which is more important to the sensitivity of cold crack than the initial hydrogen content H_O in the deposited metal. When there is no afterheat, the residual diffusible hydrogen H_ (R100) is equal to the effective diffusible hydrogen Hc. In the case of post-heating, the effective diffusible hydrogen Hc is the content of residual diffusible hydrogen H_ (RP) at the end of post-heating. In this paper, the formulas to effectively diffuse hydrogen H_C and hydrogen diffusion factor D_F are also proposed and a computer program is compiled. This research has the most important meaning to prove the welding cold crack mechanism and the engineering application.
