Seafarers’ occupations require a physically fit, optimistic character and energetic energy to withstand the risk of hard work, climate change and situations and occupations other than psychological and social isolation. The intermittent nature of the work of seafarers gives them conflicting sentiments that confuse their self-consistency and their social role. Moreover, since the boat was a mobile factory with more coercion and change than the shore, many problems arose. Therefore, this article attempts to evaluate the level of work efficiency and mental health by means of different adaptation indices. It is assumed that a better mental health reflects the better work efficiency and vice versa.
