I. Preface At present, GEC Traction Company has been designing and manufacturing vacuum circuit breakers (VCBs) for locomotives and motor vehicles for almost 20 years. This main circuit breaker is located near the roof of the pantograph and provides both locomotive and electric train current protection. When passing through the grounded catenary eight spans, the circuit breaker will isolate the locomotive or motor car. The back of this function is the cause of most of the switch action, the general urban 25kV current system, every 20km there is a big eight cross.
