The widespread shortage of teachers in most rural schools in remote areas is particularly evident in the shortage of bilingual (Chinese, English) teachers. The survey results of some remote rural primary and middle schools show that: the professional qualification rate of Chinese teachers is 67%, nearly half of them are second qualifications, and many teachers are forced to choose Chinese teaching because they can not be qualified to teach other subjects.
