【正】 Menam(mae nam)(湄南)是泰语译音词,有人把它译为river(河)和stream(溪),究竟对不对?《泰华大词典》和《泰英中大词典》都指出,menam是“江”、“河”(river),而且是河流或大河。由此可见,menam就是river,根本没有stream的含义。有人把它译错了。提起menam(湄南),人们一定会想到泰国最大的河流——湄南河。其实,湄南河的真名并不是“湄南河”,而是Menam Chao Phraya,“Chao Phraya”才是这条河流
