1993年9月中旬,笔者随中国代表团应邀参加在温哥华召开的温哥华国际软件大会(Softworld93),会后同北美几家从事多媒体技术开发的公司进行了详细的技术讨论,参观了加拿大计算机最高学府Waterloo大学、多伦多大学的多媒体实验室,对多媒体实验的综合技术做了详细的了解。笔者认为多媒体实验室对多媒体技术开发与研究以及教学提供了实验手段,它拥有最新的软硬件技术(从多媒体软件平台到灵境技术——Vi
