On October 10, 1993, Guo Ziwen, former general manager and party branch secretary of China Coal Sales and Transportation Corporation, was arrested by Beijing Dongcheng District People’s Procuratorate according to law because of corruption and bribery. With the support of the Ministry of Coal and relevant departments, the procuratorial organs received a total of 1,976,000 yuan of corruption and bribery from Guo Zicheng after more than four months of investigation.
