The literati painting formed in the Song Dynasty, in essence, is a brand new realm of artistic life. It provides a literary apartment for the literati. The appearance of literati painting is the dwelling place of Chinese literati’s poetic sentiment, the conscious pursuit of the artistic world and a kind of avoidance and detached from the real world. These literati are poetic people living in this world, plain, cheerful, self-sufficient.
