As the global importance of China grows and its cultural identities are asserted ever more strongly,scholars in many fields are recognizing the vital importance of studying Chinese religions.In response to the increasing scholarly attention paid to this field the Institute of World Religions at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Taylor & Francis Group (Routledge),supported by a grant for Innovative Projects supplied by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences,have jointly launched this joual,Studies in Chinese Religions,in the hope of creating an inteational platform for engaging scholars around the globe working on different aspects of this topic.
