城背溪遗址位于湖北省宜都县城关镇北面约10.5公里处,西南距吴家岗约0.5公里,北距宜都红花套遗址①约7公里,东临长江,两边10—40米处为长江防护堤(图一)。长江流出西陵峡口以后,折向东南,流经宜都县境。遗址即位于这段长江西岸的冲积平原上,周围地势较为平垣,往西0.5公里的吴家岗,即为高出遗址约20—30米的小岗地。由于历年来江水的冲刷,现在遗址
The site of Beiyi is located about 10.5 kilometers north of Chengguan Town, Yidu County, Hubei Province. It is about 0.5 kilometers away from Wujiagang in the southwest and about 7 kilometers away from the site of Yidu Honghuatao in the north. It is adjacent to the Yangtze River on the east and 10-40 meters on both sides of the Yangtze River Protective dike (Figure 1). After the Yangtze River flows out of Xiling Xiakou, it turns to the southeast and flows through Yidu County. The ruins are located in the alluvial plain on the west bank of the Yangtze River.
