On October 6, 1973, on the Jewish Day of Atonement, Israel was immersed in a prayer. At 3:30 in the afternoon, the sound of gunfire in Sinai rose suddenly and 100,000 Egyptian troops crossed the Suez Canal. The fourth Middle East war broke out. Perhaps even the initiator of this war did not think that it would completely change the course of the world’s automobile history. After the Fourth Middle East War began, the Arab oil-producing countries imposed an oil embargo on the United States to protest the U.S. support for Israel. For a time, the world’s oil prices “flipped into the sky” and the first oil crisis broke out. This crisis divided the automobile history of the 1970s into two parts: Before 1974, it was still the aftermath of the so-called Muscle Car Time, followed by a chaotic and painful transition period.
