The structure and properties of bis-barbituric acid derivatives were studied by UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy.The results showed that for the barbituric acid molecules with D -π-A structure, the maximum absorption wavelength λmax is the intramolecular charge The compound has two luminescent bands, each of which has a different luminescent mechanism. The first luminescent band (390 nm) is caused by the n-π transition and the second luminescent band is caused by the intramolecular charge transfer
