2008年经济寒冬让北美车展走向了收缩期。铃木、日产、三菱、保时捷、劳斯莱斯、法拉利、路虎等汽车企业没有参加本届北美车展。这和过去汽车企业竭力抢占席位的状况截然相反,而参展的大多数企业也都削减预算,让现场“朴素”得多。尽管本届车展有58款新车亮相,但是大多以纯概念车和新能源汽车为主,在新车发布规模上比往届减少了。以通用为首的美国汽车厂商开始积极推广新能源与环保汽车,这也算是对过去几十年美国汽车轻视节能与环保的一个讽刺吧。

This is a satire on the energy-saving and environmental protection that American cars have been neglecting over the past few decades.
