Record years After the early twentieth century aircraft began to show their talents in military and civilian fields, people quickly challenged all flight records. In 1913 a Frenchman Jacques Schneider set up the “Jacques Schneider” Cup Seaplane International Competition ① to promote the use and development of the aircraft. All countries have chosen the best aircraft to participate in the competition, the United States of America Curtis aircraft R3C seaplane several awards ②. On September 13, 1931, the British RAF’s John Bosman was driving a Splash Marin Aircraft Co. S.6B③ to create an average speed record of 547 km / h. The British owned the Schneider Cup permanently.
