普通外圆磨床砂轮主轴轴承由三块或五块轴瓦构成。轴瓦常用双金属浇铸,基体为 15、20碳钢,轴衬用铜合金。轴承在制造厂内经过精确调整,一般可以长期工作。但若使用不当被烧坏后,往往因为备件供应十分困难造成停机。鉴于这种情况,我厂1979年试用巴氏合金(锡基合金)焊补在原轴瓦体上取代紫铜合金获得成功。有些机床自1979年使用至今,已经10多年,仍在正常运转。锡基合金与铜合金相比有许多优点,后者使用寿命短,承受不了偶然的撞击,主轴温度达 50℃时便会引起抱轴;而前者则在一定程度上消除了这些缺点。用锡基合金焊补轴瓦体的工艺过程如下:
