睡虎地秦簡《秦律十八種》4—7號的一條《田律》,是禁止在草木生長期和動物繁殖期,濫伐草木和濫殺動物的規定。其中4—5號簡說:春二月,毋敢伐材木山林及雍(壅)隄水。不夏月,毋敢夜草爲灰,取生荔、麛卵■,毋□□□□□□毒魚鱉,置穽罔(網),到七月而縱之。唯不幸死而伐綰(棺)享(槨)者,是不用時。~([1])這條律文意思清楚,唯有“夜草爲灰”之“夜”字,頗難索解。此句的“夜”字顯然是一個
