战俘问题一直是人类文明史上一个值得关注的问题 :不同文明冲突过程中 ,如何对待和处理战俘 ,体现着冲突双方的观念、相互认知和交往方式。鸦片战争史研究中 ,战俘问题一直是被忽略的战争组成部分。鸦片战争时期战俘的获取、处置、交涉 ,以及其中反映出的观念 ,是我们了解这场战争的一个侧面 ,也是由此观察清王朝的一个视角。
The issue of prisoners of war has always been a problem of concern in the history of human civilization: how to treat and handle prisoners of war in the course of the conflicts among civilizations embodies the concepts, mutual recognition and modes of engagement of the two parties to the conflict. In the study of the history of the Opium War, the issue of prisoners of war has always been a neglected part of the war. The acquisition, disposal, negotiation and the concepts reflected in the prisoners of war during the Opium War are one aspect of our understanding of the war and the observation of the Qing Dynasty from this perspective.
