在经典力学中,刚体运动需要用3个平移分量和3个旋转分量来描述。而传统地震学只观测平移运动,缺少对3个旋转分量的测量。旋转地震学是全面研究由地震、爆破和环境振动引起的地面旋转运动的一个新兴学科。通过对平移运动和旋转运动的联合观测和解释,对于广义的地球物理学(包括强地面运动地震学、宽频带地震学、地震工程学、地震物理学、地震仪表设备、地震灾害、地震构造、大地测量学)的研究具有重要意义。
In classical mechanics, rigid body motion needs to be described by three translational components and three rotational components. While traditional seismology only observes translational motion, it lacks the measurement of three rotational components. Rotary seismology is a new discipline that comprehensively studies ground rotation caused by earthquakes, explosions and environmental vibrations. Through the joint observation and interpretation of translational and rotational motions, the generalized geophysics (including strong ground motion seismology, broadband seismology, seismic engineering, seismic physics, seismic instrumentation, earthquake disasters, seismotectonics, Geodesy) is of great significance.
