Objective To investigate the incidence of non-neoplastic lesions in the kidneys of SD rats of different weeks and sexes. Methods The sub-acute toxicity test, sub-chronic toxicity test, 800-year-old pathogen-free SD rats in the blank control group of 1 year and 2 years of chronic toxicity and carcinogenesis combined experiment were collected. According to the experimental age, the rats were divided into 10 , 19, 56 and 108 weeks old group, each group of 100 female and male rats. At the end of each experiment, the rats were sacrificed and the kidneys were taken out to calculate the renal organ coefficient. The non-neoplastic pathological changes in the rat kidney were analyzed. Results The indexes of renal organ in female rats were lower than those of 10 and 19 weeks old at 56 and 108 weeks (P <0.008). The indexes of kidney in male rats were less than 10 and 19 weeks (P <0.008), higher in the 108-week-old group than in the 56-week old group (P <0.008). The kidney index of 108-week-old male rats was significantly higher than that of the 108-week old female rats (P <0.008) Compared with 108-week-old male rats, the incidence of renal tubular calcium deposition, interstitial inflammatory cell infiltration and tubular dilatation in the 108-week-old female rats increased (P <0.05) and the incidence of chronic progressive nephropathy decreased P <0.01). The incidence of renal tubular calcium deposition in 56-week-old female rats was higher than that in 56-week-old male rats (P <0.01). Conclusion There are more non-tumor spontaneous lesions in the kidney of SD rats, and the incidence of partial lesions in different gender rats of the same week age group is different.
