辛笛(1912-2004年),现当代著名诗人;1928年开始发表诗文,1935年清华大学外文系毕业,1936年赴英国爱丁堡大学研究英国文学,与诗人艾略特、史本德等曾相过从;1939年回国在暨南、光华两大学任教授,1941年冬改入银行任职;抗战胜利后兼任《美国文学丛书》和《中国新诗》编委;与其他诗友以《中国新诗》及《诗创造》为园地,形成具有现代诗歌流派特色的“九叶”诗人群体;1949年出席中华全国文学艺术工作者代表大会,后转入工业部门工作;20世纪80年代重新焕发诗情,在现代诗、旧体诗、散文和翻译等方面多有收获。历任中国作家协会理事、上海作家协会副主席、国际笔会上海中心理事、上海翻译家协会理事、上海留英同学会名誉会长等。主要作品有诗集《珠贝集》(与弟弟辛谷合集)《手掌集》《辛笛诗稿》《印象·花束》《王辛笛诗集》《听水吟集》(旧体诗集)《王辛笛短诗选》(中英对照)及诗友合集《九叶集》《八叶集》等,散文集《夜读书记》《偶拾》《梦馀随笔》,主编《20世纪中国新诗辞典》,翻译短篇小说、诗歌多种,校对狄更斯长篇小说《尼古拉斯·尼克尔贝》等。在诗人去世十周年来临之际,我刊特选发其亲友所写的一组追忆文章,以志哀思。

At the dawn of the tenth anniversary of the poet’s death, I published a series of recalled articles written by her relatives and friends to mourn for sorrow.
