尽管中国学生能够熟练地掌握英语词汇,语法及句式,但他们在同以英语为本族语的国外人进行交谈时还存在着极大的困难。语言不仅仅是由具体语言细节构成的体系,而且还是用来交流的一种社会现象。因此,在中国的文化背景下,英语语言教学不仅仅是语言表面形式的讲解,更为重要的是培养学生们的跨文化意识和语言交流能力。本文从理论上和实践上讨论了跨文化意识和交际能力的重要性,分析了培养中国学生此种意识和能力的困难性及一些恰当的解决办法。
Although Chinese students are proficient in mastering English vocabulary, grammar, and sentence patterns, they still have great difficulty in talking with foreigners who are native speakers of English. Language is not only a system of specific language details, but also a social phenomenon used for communication. Therefore, in the context of Chinese culture, English language teaching is not only a form of language presentation, but more importantly, it is to cultivate students’ cross-cultural awareness and language communication skills. This paper discusses the importance of cross-cultural awareness and communicative competence theoretically and practically, and analyzes the difficulty and appropriate solutions for cultivating Chinese students’ awareness and ability.
