The purpose of this paper is to study the relationship between CKMT1 and NCOA1 gene and the clinical outcome of patients with head and neck cancer. 89 genes in patients receiving chemotherapy from stage III to IV were detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Genomic sequencing and immunohistochemistry validated the results. RESULTS: Thirty genes were associated with local recurrence and progression-free survival. The best predictors of local recurrence include nuclear receptor activator 1 (NCOA1) and serum-amyloid A2 (SAA2). The best predictors of disease recurrence include creatine kinase mitochondria 1
