据新华社报道伟大、光荣、正确的中国共产党走过８０年光辉历程。中共中央７月１日上午在人民大会堂举行大会，隆重庆祝中国共产党成立８０周年。中共中央总书记江泽民在大会上发表重要讲话，系统总结中国共产党８０年光辉历程和基本经验，全面阐述“三个代表”重要思想的科学内涵，提出了新的历史条件下加强和改进党的建设的重大任务，要求全党同志居安思危，增强忧患意识，不骄不躁，继续为实现党的基本路线和历史任务而奋斗。江泽民强调，中国共产党的８０年，是把马克思列宁主义同中国实践相结合而不断追求真理、开拓创新的８０年，是为民族解放、国家富强和人民幸福而不断艰苦奋斗、发愤图强的８０年，是为完成肩负的历史使命而不断经受考验、发展壮大的８０年。事实充分证明，中国共产党不愧为伟大、光荣、正确的马克思主义政党，不愧为领导中国人民不断开创新事业的核心力量。（以下为江总书记讲话节选）
