Wim Wendels was born in 1945 in Dusseldorf. He first studied medicine and philosophy in Germany and later went to Paris to study. At first he wanted to enter the Paris Film Academy, failed to do so, that is, to learn painting. In 1967, he entered the Munich Film and Television Institute, graduated in 1970. Graduated to complete the “city summer” shooting. From 1968 to 1972, he wrote a large number of critics for newspapers and magazines. In 1971, Wendels and 12 other directors in Munich to create “writer movie publishing house.” The publisher is responsible for the production and distribution of “New German Films” on a cooperative basis. In 1976, Wendels founded his own production company, named “highway film company.” In 1980 he and producer Chris West Vernich founded “Gray Limited.”
