As the time flying away, the years shuttle again. The edition of 2014 is still lingering us, 2015 Shishi Fashion Week, with the theme of “Fashion Shishi, cutting-edge designers”, was held from 17th to 20th, April.
With regard to the features, there are four ones showed during the week.
To build a platform for apparel cultures communication
As the China’s famous city for casual wear, Shishi is located at the west coast of Taiwan Strait, adjacent to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao, enjoying the unique regional advantages. It is the China’s famous distributing center and source region for the textile and clothing industry. Owing to the exceptional advantages, the Fashion Week, with its born, owns the responsibility to bridge different cultures among regions. And till now, it has been surely attracted excellent designers to bring their works for communication, and even for opening China’s market from here.
To construct a platform for promising young designers
Shishi is focusing on exploring and cultivating local designers, such as Yang Ziming, Zeng Fengfei, Liu Yiqun, and Hong Meixuan. On this edition, besides the above mentioned, Liu Yong, Zhang Yichao, Dong Huaiguang, Hui Wenlong, and Wu Huanran joined in with their creative works.
Furthermore, in order to integrate the backbone of the industry, Shishi formulated the first county-level designers association— Shishi Designers Association. At the end day of the Week, the association has received more than 230 designers’ applications, and from the moment of its establishment, a new cooperation mode of association pluses fashion week has been coming into operation.
To set up a platform for industry-universityresearch cooperation
What is the most expensive in the 21st century? The talents! Graduates from fashion design colleges or related disciplines are becoming the hot ones in the eyes of textile and garment enterprises.
For being a responsible platform, Shishi has been working for years to achieve the cooperation with domestic and abroad universities, institutions, and specialists to satisfy the demands of graduates as well as related enterprises.
To offer the exchange platform between designers and industry
During the years’ fashion week, there are always a group of local or surrounding “scouts” to search for opportunities to establish cooperation with designers, and which is also an important concern for sponsors.
Therefore, on this edition, every release supported one program, namely, forums for designers which invited entrepreneurs and the enterprises with interest to interact with the designers on the spot. In this way, i t c o u l d help both sides know well about the trend, the future, and the market, so as to promote the development of whole industry. some crucial points in time for the development Shishi garment industry
In 1999, the Garment Strategy Seminar for STCF in the Famous Garment City and Exhibition for Works of Famous Designers from Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, and Taiwan were held. Since then, the STCF’s cultural connotation has been improved year by year. The release activity of fashionable garments designed by designers from Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, and Taiwan has become a highlight for the STCF. Up to the present, more than 20 famous designers including Zhang Zhaoda, Hu Yajuan, Wu Haiyan, Qigang, Shi Xiyu, Cai Liyu from Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, and Taiwan have release their works in the STCF.
Starting from 2002, the STCF achieved a new breakthrough in terms of "Straits" feature. Taiwan Textile Federation, Taiwan Knitting Industry Association, Taiwan Garment Industry Association, and Taiwan Sweater Industry Association actively participate in the sponsorship of the STCF and come up with ideas for STCF. In December 2002, Shishi was awarded the title of "China’s Famous City for Casual Wear".
In 2003, the STCF added the "Leisure" theme for the first time and the Casual Wear Expo was held at the same time.At the opening ceremony, the unveiling ceremony for "China’s Famous City for Casual Wear" was held, which represented that Shishi had started the journey for creating brands for the famous casual wear city. The display area for fabric and auxiliary materials was firstly set up, which effectively promoted the textile and clothing upstream and downstream industries development.
In 2005, the 8th STCF was held in Shishi, the largest garment commercial center in Asia. At the same time, the Shishi Garment City was ceremoniously opened. The fair and market was completely integrated. The STCF became a big stage for Fujian garments with the Shishi garment plate as the core to show the theme of fashion. Due to the tremendous influence and good reputation of STCF, in April 2006, the STCF was awarded the title of "Top 10 Most Influential Textile and Clothing Fair in China".
