菝葜为百合科植物菝葜的根茎,又名金刚藤、金刚根、金刚骨、山梨儿、金刚树等。菝葜为攀缘状灌木,根茎横走,呈不规则的弯曲,肥厚质硬,疏生须根。茎硬,高1~3m,有倒生或平出的疏刺。叶互生,革质,圆形乃至广椭圆形,长5~7cm,宽2.5~5cm,沿叶柄下部两侧有卷须2条。花单性,雌雄异株;伞形花序,腋生;苞片卵状披针形;花被裂片6,2轮,矩圆形,黄绿色;雄花直径约6mm,雄蕊6,花丝短,长约4mm,药黄色;雌花较小;直径约3mm,退化雄蕊成丝状,子房上位,长
