Objective: To evaluate the clinical value of serum lipids in the diagnosis of diabetic patients. METHODS: From January 2015 to March 2016, 150 subjects with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes were enrolled in the study. Blood glucose, blood glucose and other tests were performed in the medical examination center of the hospital. The patients were enrolled in the diabetes mellitus group and did not have diabetes in the same period. 400 subjects were included in the control group, comparing the level of blood lipids and the incidence of dyslipidemia. Results: The levels of TC, TG and HDL-C in diabetic group were higher than those in control group, while the level of LDL-C in diabetic group was lower than that in control group (P <0.05). The rate of dyslipidemia in diabetic group was 74.67% (112/150) , While the control group was 17.50% (70/400), the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion: The rate of dyslipidemia in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus is significantly higher than that of normal people without diabetes mellitus, and the average indexes are also significantly different from those in normal people. It can be used as the basis for the screening of diabetes mellitus.
